Notes for FView for Windows NT

The following topic is missing from the online help:


You must copy MSVCRT20.DLL to the System32 directory
----------------------------------------------------
 1. Start File Manager and find the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 directory. 
    %SYSTEMROOT% is the directory where you installed Windows NT.

 2. Check if you have the MSVCRT20.DLL file there. If yes, do NOT 
    copy the enclosed file.

 4. If the file does not exist in your System32 directory, copy in
    the file enclosed in this package.


You must manually register FViewDLL.dll with File Manager

 1. Start the Registration Editor: From Program Manager 
    select File-Run then type REGEDT32.
 
 2. Select window: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on Local Machine"

 3. Locate key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\File Manager
    You can easily achieve this by selecting from REGEDT32 menu:
    View-Find Key... and typing the key to find: "File Manager".

 4. Locate subkey AddOns. If one does not exist, create it.
    Select Edit-Add Key..., type in "AddOns" and press OK.

 5. In the AddOns key add value:
      Value Name: FViewDLL
      Data Type:  REG_SZ
      String:     FViewDLL.DLL

    Note: If the directory where FViewDLL.DLL is located is not in 
    the path, you must enter the full path in the "String" field.
